You Would Be Proud of Me

The other day I was visiting my mother in law and father in law and happened to walk into the kitchen where I saw my greatest weakness. That is right, chocolate chip cookies. If you know me, you know that I am the kind of guy who loves cookies so much I could get fat off of the diet cookies offered by Nutri System. The good news this time around is that although those cookies looked absolutely delicious, I resisted. That is right, I did not take a single bite of a cookie that day and am very proud of myself for not doing so.

Food Choices For Lowering High Cholesterol

Dietary cholesterol can raise the level of cholesterol in the blood. Therefore eating less food that is high in cholesterol is important, and lowering high cholesterol can be greatly aided with a good diet.

Dietary cholesterol is found in dairy products, eggs, meat, fish and poultry. The yolk of an egg and organ meats like kidney, liver and brain are especially rich sources of cholesterol. Fish generally has less cholesterol, but meat, high-fat dairy products and poultry have more or less similar amounts of cholesterol. However, grains, nuts, seeds, cereals, fruits and vegetables contain no cholesterol. Therefore your diet should contain more of these products rather than those that contain cholesterol.
