Got a plan?

March 7, 2010 - 4:54 pm No Comments

You finally bought that new aquarium. Before buying the fish and adding water, take a moment to slow down. Come up with a plan. Make sure you position your tank near a wall outlet, so you can easily plug in your accessories. Figure out where you are going to put the filter, heater, air pumps and any other accessory you bought. Then try to get a lay out at least in your head of where you want to position everything in the tank. Try to look for any potential problems before you set-up. It’s much easier to fix these problems now. Before you get half way through, and notice you don’t have enough hose to place that air stone where you wanted it.

My new aquarium

I recently found an aquarium for sale. I found it on Craig’s list right in my local area. It was a 50 gallon aquarium, complete with all the accessories. I got it for 100$ and I didn’t even haggle the guy! He just needed the cash and a deal like that was just too good to pass up. If you are looking for a used fish tank there is plenty of them around. Check online, or your local newspaper. I’m sure you will find some sweet deals out there. With today’s economy people are willing to sell aquariums and a lot of times all the accessories for cheap!

One of the better quality dog training guides is Secrets To Dog Training. Before buying any book or course online it is worth doing a bit of research and checking out a Dog Training Secrets review before buying to see what other people think . This is a comprehensive course and covers everything from how you canstop a Yorkshire Terrier barking to toilet training a shih tzu puppy. Working with your dog one-to-one on improving their obedience levels can be very rewarding. It is thought that the dog owner is often the best person to be training their dog. This can be due to the owner having the day to day responsibility of ensuring obedient behavior in the dog.

When your out looking for a fish tank for sale that getting that smaller tank isn’t always the right choice. I started with a ten gallon aquarium, then I bought another ten gallon tank. I bought a twenty gallon tank next. While interesting having all these tanks it also was time consuming because smaller tanks require more maintenance. What I really wanted was a big tank, and instead of saving for a large tank I kept buying little tanks. Larger tanks are easier to maintain and you can put more fish in them and there is a lot more to look at then a smaller tank.

I think I need a change in scenery!

I was recently getting bored with my tank. I was even thinking about checking out aquariums for sale. Then a thought came to me. I’ll just change my tank around. I took out some of the gravel and added black, Then I put a darker light in it. I bought black pieces of rock, and an old busted down black pirate ship. Just to add to the darker scene. Then I added a couple plants to give more shadowed areas in the tank. Wow, what a difference! Instead of buying a new tank, consider trying to change the scene in your tank. Fish are the best!

Are you looking for your first fish tank?

There are numerous places to look for aquariums for sale
First, you can check out local pet stores. While there selection is usually a bit limited, the nice thing about them is you can usually get everything you need at one place. A draw back though, is usually the sales clerks are not very knowledgeable about fishes or fish tanks. I would suggest a fish store if you can find one near by. These fish stores are starting to vanish, struggling to survive in today’s economy. If you are looking for the cheapest way to shop it would be the classified ads of your local newspaper. The draw back however is the tanks are not guaranteed and may leak so shop wisely.
