HD DVD Players may have been Microsoft’s mishap

When we look back on the high definition movie disk history it reminds many people of the war between Betamax and VHS from the late 9170’s and early 1980’s. As it turns out, this fight in the marketplace had been present in the first place for only one companies sake. Microsoft took a strong stance on their interactivity format which was exclusive to the HD DVD, while the BluRay used Sun Microsystem’s JAVA based script to provide it’s interactivity. Microsoft was apparently the party that propped Toshiba up to stay in the fight, but unforuntately for both companies, Sony’s BluRay format evenutally meant the end of HD DVD Players as we know them today.
