Is Fluffy Causing Your Night Sweat?
In the many ways night sweats are caused, I would have never blamed fluffy. But in fact, allergens deriving from your pet’s fur can cause you to suffer from night sweats. If you notice an increase in your night sweat after you bring a new pet into your home, you should take steps to improve your sleeping environment
Pets are great so I am not going to tell you to give that puppy or kitty away, but you should at least take a few common sense steps to reduce the dander and allergens in your sleeping air.
If you can manage you should try to not let your pet into your bedroom. It should be an off-limits part of your home. That may be difficult for some so at least do not allow them in your bedroom when you are sleeping. Addtionally, try to vacuum and dust more regularly. When these allergens accumulate on surfaces and in carpte fibers, they slow seap out into the air later.
One last step is to make sure any pet-related devices or utensils are not near your bed. The worst example would be a litter box nearby. But more subtle examples might include the brush you use to groom your dog.
So take these common senses steps to reduce pet dander and allergens in your bedroom at night and you may notice fewer frustrating night sweats.
