What can I do with all of our used stuffed animals?
I have 5 children and we have accumulated LOTS of stuffed animals over the years from family and friends for birthdays and christmas, etc. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do with all these animals that will make my children feel good about getting rid of them? We had a garage sale and tried to sell some of them, but people just don’t tend to buy stuffed animals very much. Any ideas would be great. Thank you!
Hospitals will, understandably, only take new stuffed animals due to the fact that the children are sick and can’t be exposed to certain things (like pet hair, bacteria, etc.).
But you can donate them to the salvation army or your local charity consignment shops or a church that helps the less fortunate.
I did that with my daughter’s things…and when we went to the zoo, she pointed at a baby that had on little socks and said that maybe those were her socks and she had warm feet because of us!! ![]()
Good luck! :))

i suggest sending them to the salvation army.
it will help kids & people in need.
or you could donate to the rest & nursery home in your area.

You could donate them to a children’s hospital, or a regular hospital. I know when my son went to the emergency room as an infant, they gave him a stuffed animal to keep.

First of all put them in the dryer for 20 minutes if they have been sitting in storage for a while, this will help kill the dust mites or what ever smell they may have from being stored.I would then get a hold of a Children’s Hospital near you and see if they can take them.Or you can give them to a Charity which will give them to low income family’s. Good luck

Call a local battered women’s shelter, orphanage, free children’s clinic, day care centers, public assistance office, homeless shelters, even AA. There are so any children in need and your donations would be so appreciated by them. You’re sweet for taking the time to ask this question.

I have the exact problem(when they open stuffed animals people give them as gifts I’m always sitting there like "Oh YAY more stuffed animals to end up all over the place! lol) but donate them to Goodwill or Salvation Army, or a local thrift store and explain to the kids that there are less fortunate kids out there who’s parent can’t afford to buy them a whole lot of stuff. Maybe that will work I know my oldest daughter has a big heart..and so now she is always trying to donate all kinds of stuff.
Good luck!

By all means, donate them to local charities.
For those that are too scruffy or beat up, take them to your local animal shelter for the dogs to play with.
