What to do with a bunch of stuffed animals?
My kids are four years old now and we have amassed no fewer than 40 stuffed animals (some of them HUGE) and we just don’t have the space for them anymore. They are all in good to excellent condition but they have all been gently loved. It seems like a waste the discard them in the trash but I’m not sure what else to do. I would love to donate them to an orphanage or children’s shelter or some such but I’m afraid they won’t want them because they aren’t brand new. Anyone have any suggestions?
Everyone’s answers were great. I found a local child advocacy program that wants them… I’m going to drop them off now.
Thanks to all!!!
Send them to children in Iraq.

You should atleast try to donate them, some places dont care as long as their in good condition.

give them to a thrift shop so that kids who dont have the money to get that stuff will have a chance to love them. My family has been there before and it really does help people.

Maybe the police station. I know sometimes they give stuffed animals to children in certain circumstances.

Give them away to a goodwill, shelter or orphanage. They will appreciate them even if they aren’t new. Just make sure they are clean, have no holes or loose parts that can become choking parts.

I definately wouldn’t throw them away if they are gently used. You could contact a local shelter, a good will, or even your local police department. They may take some of them from you to give to lost children or any children that they come into contact with. Maybe some of the hospitals in the area too. Also my mother is in a home and they have stuffed animals for some of the patients there some of the patients treat them like they are real pets and I believe it gives them a level of comfort.

Besides donating them to a thrift store, there is also community centres that will accept them.

We periodically go threw ours. We have a toy hammock in each of the kids room and we put them up in those so the are cute and up!

Divide them up between animal shelters, children’s hospitals and the nursing homes.
