The Arroyo Golf Club, a Premier Las Vegas Course

February 28, 2010 - 9:27 am

The Arroyo Golf Club, situated at Red Rock Country Club, is available for public play and is located in the Master Planned Community of Summerlin in Las Vegas. The course winds seamlessly through the rugged terrain and is nestled among the striking landscapes of Red Rock Canyon, one of the most beloved natural landmarks of Las Vegas. Panoramic views of the Las Vegas city-scape are stunning, especially from the seventh hole at Arroyo.

This Las Vegas course is known as a masterpiece that presents challenges to both beginners and advanced players. The beautifully maintained course makes a stark, yet beautiful, comparison to the rugged landscape that encompases it. The Vegas climate makes the Red Rock golf club the perfect getaway for golfers no matter what time of year.

Measuring 6,857 yards to a par-72 from the back tees, the Arroyo Course isn’t excessively long and not especially tight either. Keeping your ball in play is fairly easy for the majority of players.

This Arnold Palmer designed signature golf course includes nearly 100 bunkers, but even more importantly, approximately 40 acres that used to be irrigated turf have been returned to the desert. As a result, more sand … and rocks and cacti.

In actual fact the sand doesn’t really make Arroyo all that troublesome. It simply makes it more striking, nestled in the natural landscape of Red Rock Canyon. The bunkers, although plentiful, are shallow and usually not hard to play from, and the new desert terrain shouldn’t come into play if you are smart and relatively skilled.

The irrigation reduction project is part of a partial renovation of the course design that also includes new drainage and irrigation and a few new sections of turf. The result is a golf course that has evolved for the better in a short amount of time.

After playing a round, golfers can enjoy a country club feel in the Arroyo Grill, which includes a full bar, appetizers, salads and entrees. The grill is also available for breakfast, and there are both men’s and women’s locker rooms to use before and after play to give the daily-fee player the country club-for-a-day experience.

The Arroyo Golf Club at Red Rock offers a peaceful environment to break free from a hectic lifestyle. At the same time, it’s near enough that you can still go and then enjoy the entertainment of the city. With such an ideal balance of both peace and city life, this Las Vegas golf club provides the best of both worlds
